INFINITI Around View Monitor

Breaking New Ground

Infiniti's Around View® Monitor broke new ground in onboard camera systems when it debuted in 2007; the latest version incorporating Moving Object Detection [*] is even more helpful, alerting you to moving objects around the vehicle.

While this technology does not eliminate all blind spots and no camera system can replace a cautious and attentive driver, Infiniti technology is making parking easier for its drivers every day.

The Around View Monitor uses four ultra-wide-angle cameras to display views around the vehicle and a virtual view of the vehicle from above.

How it works:

Four cameras provide 180-degree views around the vehicle. They are located in the rear license plate finisher, near the Infiniti badge in the front grille, and under both outside mirrors.

The system can be activated when the vehicle is stopped by pushing the CAMERA button on the instrument panel or by shifting into Reverse. When activated, the LCD screen in the center dash displays two views.

The Around View Monitor also includes four corner sonar sensors that create curved lines that look like sound waves on the vehicle display. If the vehicle gets too close to an object - like another vehicle - the curved lines will change color and flash, and beeping sound will get faster as you get closer.
