INFINITI Lane Departure Prevention

An Industry First

Lane Departure Warning is a safety and technology feature designed to help alert the driver if the vehicle is unintentionally beginning to leave the current travel lane. Lane Departure Prevention assists the driver in returning the vehicle to its current travel lane.

How it Works:

Lane Departure Warning uses a camera mounted above the rear view mirror to determine the vehicle's position between clearly visible lane markers. It can provide an audible warning that alerts the driver to unintentional lane departure. Using a turn signal to switch lanes can pause Lane Departure Warning operation until the turn signal is off.

Lane Departure Prevention builds on the Lane Departure Warning system by providing audible and visual warnings of unintentional lane departure and using the Vehicle's Dynamic Control system to apply active breaking on the appropriate side of the vehicle, thereby helping the driver take corrective action to return the vehicle to the current travel lane. (if the vehicle is equipped with Direct Adaptive Steering, the system is used to slightly turn the wheels instead of braking). Intentionally moving out of your lane or using your turn signal to switch lanes can pause Lane Departure Prevention operation.
