INFINITi Q50 vs Acura TLX exterior profile.

INFINITI is the leader in lot of innovative technologies and the Q50 is the flagship model in which all of latest INFINITI technologies are available. Imagine a sedan that scans two cars ahead, that gently steers the vehicle back into the lane when a drift is detected, that prevents a collision when changing lanes and backing up, that gives you a full all-around view of the car highlighting any moving objects when parking, and that automatically adjusts headlight level and high beams. That's the INFINITI Q50.

Interior Space

The Q50 has a better and more intriguing interior design, and there's more space for the front and rear passengers. The available INFINITI InTouch Navigation with Synchronized Adaptive Shift Control uses the GPS and map data to determine transmission shift points. For instance, if you're driving in the Mt. Hood area where there are lots of hills and sharp curves, the system will know about it and hold gears longer to provide the ultimate driving experience. The Acura TLX's Honda-like interior might be fairly simple to use, but doesn't really do anything for the senses.

From the fuel efficient 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder to the powerful 3.0-liter V6 Twin-Turbo engine, producing 300 HP 295 lb-ft of torque, and the sport tuned Red Sport version producing 400 HP with 350 lb-ft of torque, you can configure your new Q50 however you like. Combined with INFINITI's sport-tuned 7-Speed transmission and Intelligent All Wheel Drive, you get a fast and smooth shifting experience with gripping performance. The TLX has a 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engine option with a max of 290 HP and offers an 8-speed automatic for the 4-cylinder and 9-speed dual clutch transmission for the 6-cylinder. If you want all-wheel drive, you'll have to opt for the 6-cylinder, whereas the Q50 is available in all-wheel drive for all trim levels.

INFINITI 3.0L V6 Engine Details

The Q50 and most other INFINITI models are designed with a Formula 1 Racing inspired double wishbone front independent suspension and rear multi-link independent suspension. The benefit is greatly reduced body lean while cornering and reduced nose dive when stopping. This helps keep all wheels glued to the ground for optimum traction. The Acura TLX uses Macpherson Struts, which, while being a popular choice among car makers for years, it doesn't provide the same level of performance. Macpherson Struts are easier to design and less expensive to implement into vehicles, which is why it's the more popular choice among car makers.

All Wheel Drive Systems

The INFINITI Intelligent All-Wheel Drive is rear wheel drive based meaning it sends 100% of the power to the rear wheels until increased traction is needed, at which point, the system instantly sends up to 50% of the power to the front wheels. It will also engage wheels individually to provide increased grip while cornering. The Acura TLX has what they call Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, which is 100% front wheel drive until the other wheels are needed.

The elegant interior found in the INFINITI Q50 truly sets it apart from the competition. You can tell that INFINITI put some thought into the placement of every button.

Predictive Forward Collision Warning

A world-first technology. INFINITI's Predictive Forward Collision Warning doesn't just watch the car directly in front of you, it watches the car in front of that one. This gives you more time to react to sudden changes and avoid a collision.
