Follow These Steps to Put Your INFINITI QX50 in Neutral

After pressing your ignition switch to turn your QX50 on, press the electronic shift lever button and move the shift lever from the “P’ for parking position to the “N” for neutral position. With other vehicles, the parking position is generally at the very top of the gear shift, but the QX50 has it next to the neutral position. It’s important to note that following your shift into neutral position, do not press the electronic shift lever button. In order to go into reverse or forward position, simply move the shift lever from the neutral position to the “R” icon for reverse, or the “D” icon for drive, or forward, past the point of resistance. Release the shift lever in order to start going in the direction designated to your position. In order to park, you can simply press the park button marked “P”, after the vehicle is completely stopped. This shifts the transmission into park but does not apply the parking brake. In addition to putting the vehicle in park, apply the electronic parking brake via the icon marked here: The shifter park position engages automatically when the driver’s door is opened and the vehicle is stopped or moving slowly in forward or reverse.
