The INFINITI vehicles you’ll find here at BEAVERTON INFINITI will always be high-quality, reliable, and refined-and JD Power and Associates backs that up with data derived from that group’s annual Initial Quality Study. INFINITI jumped from 23rd place in 2014 to 5th place this year, marking the biggest jump of any vehicle maker. INFINITI made that big jump by targeting two specific problem areas: the software on the InTouch telematics system of the Q50 sedan and the transmission on the QX60 SUV.

Making Changes to Improve

Since the JD Power Initial Quality Study rankings are based on problems reported by new vehicle buyers, reducing the number of problems from these two areas was enough to launch this luxury brand into the top five. Of course, Randy Parker of INFINITI said, “We focused on what went wrong in the past and learned from past mistakes. No. 5 is a better place to be, but we’re not satisfied until we become No. 1.”

Parker also noted that the INFINITI Q70 Sedan was partially responsible for the boost in Initial Quality. The Q70 received a major refresh for the 2015 model year and the cabin of that luxury sedan is now quieter, and the steering is updated to prove more confident handling. This helped to reduce the number of customer problems.

Another factor in new vehicle quality is how easy the latest infotainment systems are to use. Here at BEAVERTON INFINITI, we’re happy to show you how to use your INFINITI InTouch system.
